PERSONAL BIO

My name is Robert Kukla and I was born and raised in Calgary, AB Canada. I started recording, mixing, and mastering bands in 2009 at the age of 16 and cut my teeth under the mentorship of Calgary’s local metal music hero / producer / guitar virtuoso Alan Sacha Laskow (ex-Divinity / Every Hour Kills).

In 2016 I moved to Gothenburg, Sweden, with the intention of developing the most promising bands that metal and rock music has to offer. After building my business up with the help of Christian Svedin for 2 years at Studio Haga, I was given the opportunity to join Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman (Adept, Arch Enemy, Architects, At The Gates, Bring Me The Horizon, Dark Tranquility, Dead By April, Dimmu Borgir, Hammerfall, The Haunted, I Killed The Prom Queen, In Flames, Myrath, Opeth, Powerwolf, Sabaton, Septic Flesh, Soilwork, etc.)

Fredrik and I renovated his studio in 2019 and added a secondary control room from which to run my music production business, designed by Claes Olsson from Eora ljudteknik AB. I currently work together with Fredrik and help metal and rock bands with pre-production, recording, post-production, mixing, and mastering.

When I work with artists I have the intension of bringing forth their best-sounding, truest selves, in order to help them stand out in a very congested and all too similar-sounding scene. To say I have a passion for this is an understatement. It’s my calling. My god damn destiny.
